Caterpillar's Dance

"Greetings to you, my old friend,"
Said the caterpillar to the little frog.
"Are you enjoying this sunny day,
upon your floating log?"

"Why hello again my dear friend,
you have such a smile on your face.
Please share with me the happy news,
that brings you to my place."

The caterpillar stood up tall,
then gracefully spun around.
She did a little curtsy,
then slowly lowered to the ground.

"Oh, little frog, I am so pleased,
I learned this new dance today.
I wanted to show it to all my friends,
before I go out to play."

"You dance so well my friend,
and it looks like so much fun.
Will you teach me how to dance like you,
out here in the midday sun?"

The two friends stood up tall
upon the floating log
"Okay, I think I'm ready to learn,"
said the little frog.

They spun around together,
she curtsied and he bowed.
"Little frog, you learn so fast,
you should be very proud."

The two old friends laughed with joy
as they danced away the day.
"Oh my, it's dark," said the caterpillar,
"How I wish that I could stay."

"Thanks for sharing your dance with me,
we must dance again real soon."
Little frog turned to her and bowed,
under the light of the bright full moon.
