A Giant Legend

Once upon a time there were no oceans.
There was only dry land all over the Earth.
Somewhere on the dry land,
there was a giant named Mr. Giant
who lived near a small town.

All the people in the town loved Mr. Giant.
Mr. Giant would help the people
when they needed something fixed.
Mr. Giant would also give rides to the townspeople
who needed to travel to far away places.
The children in the town loved Mr. Giant the most.
Every Saturday afternoon, all the children in the town
would gather at Mr. Giant's house to play.
He would have giant sized cookies for them to eat.
He would tell them tales of
the far away places that he had traveled to.
He would tell them about
all the wonderful things he had seen
in all the far away places he had traveled.
Mr. Giant loved all the people in the town.
He had a grand life where he lived.
But sometimes, Mr. Giant would be very sad.

The townspeople did not know
what was wrong with Mr. Giant.
They couldn't understand
how someone who was usually so happy
could be so sad sometimes.
The townspeople did not know
that Mr. Giant was very lonely.
Mr. Giant did not have a wife
and that made Mr. Giant very sad.
Mr. Baker had Mrs. Baker.
Mr. Weaver had Mrs. Weaver.
Mr. Butcher had Mrs. Butcher,
and Mr. Farmer had Mrs. Farmer.
In fact, all the Mr.'s in town had a Mrs.,
except for Mr. Giant.

One day in the town, it started to rain very hard.
The townspeople didn't think anything of it,
it often rained on their town.
But the next day,
when it was still raining very hard,
the townspeople didn't understand why.
The children looked up and noticed
that it wasn't raining after all,
Mr. Giant was crying on the town.
Mr. Giant told the townspeople that he was very sad
and could not stop crying.
He cried for days and days.
The townspeople started to worry.
A small puddle had turned into a pond.
A small pond had turned into a lake.
The streets were starting to flood
and if Mr. Giant kept on crying,
their houses would wash away.

The townspeople had a meeting
to figure out how they could help Mr. Giant.
Mr. and Mrs. Baker took a cake to Mr. Giant,
but that didn't stop him from cyring.
Mr. and Mrs. Weaver took a blanket to Mr. Giant,
but that didn't stop him from crying.
Mr. and Mrs. Butcher took a piece of meat to Mr. Giant,
but that didn't stop him from crying.
Mr. and Mrs. Farmer took fresh vegetables to Mr. Giant,
but that didn't stop him from crying.
The townspeople didn't know what to do.
Finally, the children figured out how to help Mr. Giant.
Mr. Giant needed a wife.

The next day,
Mr. Baker, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Butcher and Mr. Farmer
left on their horses to find a wife for Mr. Giant.
They traveled from town to town.
They traveled for days and days.
They could't find a wife for Mr. Giant anywhere.
After traveling for days and days,
the days and days turned into weeks and weeks.
The men were just about to give up
when they finally arrived in the last town.
They asked the townspeople
if they knew of any giants in the area.
The townspeople said
"yes, there is a Ms. Giant that lives nearby."
Mr. Baker, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Butcher and Mr. Farmer
were so happy to hear the news.
They had found a wife for Mr. Giant.
When they met Ms. Giant, she was crying.
She had been crying for days and days.
She was lonely and wanted a husband.
Mr. Baker, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Butcher and Mr. Farmer
invited Ms. Giant to come back to their town
and meet Mr. Giant.
Ms. Giant followed them back to their town.

Mr. Giant and Ms. Giant met and fell in love.
They both stopped crying and they lived happily ever after,
but not before they had both cried so much
that their tears formed all the oceans on the Earth.
